The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) works with partners to enhance crop quality and productivity, reduce producer and consumer risks, and generate wealth from agriculture, with the ultimate goals of reducing hunger, malnutrition, and poverty. IITA’s research-for-development (R4D) focuses on addressing the development needs of tropical countries. The institute was established in 1967 and is headquartered in Ibadan, Nigeria, with several research stations across Africa. IITA is a nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Trustees, supported by several countries and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

IITA Ghana is seeking research staff to work on the Africa Research in sustainable intensification for the next generation (Africa RISING) project in the 3 northern regions

Job Description

Job Title: Driver / Field Technician – Crop Production

Responsibilities

•   Drive project staff and partners
•   Assist with planning and harvesting of agronomic trials
•   Ensure that vehicles are properly maintained
•   Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Secondary School leaving certificate or Equivalent
•   Possession of a valid license
•   A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position

Required Skills and Experience

Advertisement

•   A minimum of 3 or 5 years of experience in similar position
•   Possession of a valid driving license
•   Good writing and verbal communication in English
•   Knowledge of at least one native language

Location: Wa – Upper West Region
