SOS Children Villages Ghana is a child welfare organization that provides a stable family environment for children in need, with four villages currently in operation in Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi and Tamale.

SOS Children’s Villages is active in 132 countries and territories worldwide. The variety of this international work is brought together by the umbrella organisation SOS-Kinderdorf International, which unites all of the autonomous national associations.

Job Description:

Applicant will be responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining all IT projects and processes in the organisation

The incumbent should have experience in data administration, the use and administration of Windows systems, advanced knowledge of systems in a server environment, able to train co-workers and assist them in the administration, implementation, maintenance of MS Office 2007, good knowledge of HTML coding, good knowledge of standard programs and tools like Winzip, Acrobat Reader, FTP, etc. – good knowledge of Internet working connectivity, understanding of how databases work (ability to create and modify simple reports), good concept of security systems and data shop backup and stay informed about new technologies

Applicant will report directly to the National Director

Required Qualifications:

Successful applicant should hold first degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science from a recognised University. Microsoft Certification or a second degree in relevant field would be added advantage

Applicant should have at least 5 years practical experience and be willing to travel at short notices

Possess proven ability in problem solving & trouble shooting with little or no supervision

Should be able to solve IT related problems to component level

Should possess good skills in planning, communication, interpersonal, organisational and report writing.
