Job Purpose:

 

 

 

This role will be Ghana based within the TS&P Department but embedded into TGL Operations. The candidate will be responsible for shipping operational duties for TGL and will interface with the Subsurface team to ensure accurate production forecasts are utilised.  The role will focus on the Planning Process for offloading operations including Boarding Party arrangements, cargo quality assurance, FPSO internal audit and cargo claims management process.

 

   
Responsibilities / Key Objectives for the Shipping Role : Forecasting

Responsibility for obtaining production forecasts from Operations/Subsurface team for scheduling purposes;

Organise weekly calls with the Ghana Operations team to discuss process restrictions, changes to rig schedules, FPSO maintenance plans;

Monitor production levels and issue revised forecasts as necessary.

 

Scheduling

Issue forecasts of entitlements to Partners;

Receive nominations of cargo size requirements from Partners;

Organise OMS calls to discuss Lifting Schedules;

Monitor daily production, offtake and forecasts suggesting potential adjustments to offtake schedules as necessary;

Responsibilities / Key Objectives for the Shipping Role :

 

 

Tanker Nominations and Vetting

Receive tanker nominations from Partners;

Perform initial tanker vetting procedures;

Monitor timely arrival of tankers, and manage substitution of vessels where necessary;

Shipping Documentation/Loading Operations

Receive, and forward offload documentation to the Mooring Master;

Keep Lifting Party informed of progress on each offload;

Prepare and distribute Sailing Cable for each offload;

Supervise distribution of original shipping documents to Lifting Parties;

Obtain Inspection reports and forward as required.

 

Post Offtake Operations

Take a proactive approach in potential claims assessment;

Set up and maintain Claims Management System for Quantity/Quality and Demurrage.

 
Reporting

Advertisement

Maintain statistical data for BOL v Outturn volumes and prepare reports for internal use;

Monitor cargo quality and prepare ad-hoc reports as required;

Prepare CFTM submissions to UO monthly report;

Identify other areas where Shipping Operations could add value and produce relevant reports.

Responsibilities / Key Objectives for the Ghana Production Operations Team Role :

Special Requirements :

Forecasting/Scheduling

Work closely with the TEN/Jubilee Planning team to understand the production forecasting process and links to Integrated Planning

Input into planning and forecasting process in relation to cargo and vessel nomination timescales

Arrange Operations involvement in OMS/Partner discussions where applicable

Tanker Nominations and Vetting

Ensure timely liaison with TGL Mooring Master in relation to tanker nomination and vetting

Ensure tanker details are provided to Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) as soon as approval is received from TGL Mooring Master

Pre Offtake Operations

Ensure nominations for Boarding Party representatives are requested in a timely manner, specifying the required certification and travel stipulations

On receipt of nominated Boarding Party representatives, ensure the aforementioned certification is in place to enable travel offshore

Liaise with the Operations Team Assistant and Jubilee/TEN Planning to ensure the necessary travel bookings are made. Link to TGL Mooring Master for mobilisation timelines in relation to transfer to tanker

Notify Boarding Party Representatives of check-in times for travel

Post Offtake Operations

Ensure receipt of original BOL hard copy documentation and link to TGL DCC for hard and soft copy storage

Ensure original BOL is securely delivered to the nominated person for onward transit to OOC (Oil Offtake Coordination),  team in London

Close out BOL Tracking Sheet and issue to the relevant parties

Work with TGL Mooring Master to review and collate Post Offtake Actions – monitoring status and ensuring close-out

Reporting

Ensure liaison with Production Operations Cost Engineer in relation to Oil Offtake Budget build and commitment tracking

Coordinate weekly OOC/Operations meeting if required

Provide Operations Offtake Summary for Unit Operator Monthly Report

Other Requirements

Ensure any sampling requirements are understood and liaise with Operations for collection and dispatch – track process until receipt is confirmed by requesting party

Candidate must have excellent communication skills.

Role will require routine weekend duty cover.

Person Specification

Education:  Previous experience in marine operations would be preferable. A good standard of education (degree level preferred).
Skills: A good working knowledge of shipping operations at offshore and onshore terminals;

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English

Strong numerical and spreadsheet skills;

Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task

Clear understanding of the underlying principles of oil allocation and accounting;

A good understanding of Commercial Agreements and Procedures

Ability to work under pressure and to observe contractual deadlines and timetables;

Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with JV partners, Governmental agencies effectively

Business Behaviours: Strong interpersonal skills, able to integrate with R&M team, the Ghana operations team and with the wider internal infrastructure within Tullow;

Excellent verbal, written and aural communication skills;

Able to handle conflict and potential difficult conversations with JV partners during OMS scheduling calls
