Responsibilities / Key Objectives:
COMMUNICATIONS
Alignment of Internal Stakeholders to Corporate Goals
- Develop and implement TGL’s internal communications strategy in consultation with the Corporate Communications & Investor Relations Manager
- Partner core functions of the business to roll out change initiatives and new projects as and when required
- Create appropriate platforms to provide employees with an in depth understanding of the business; its goals and objectives
- Help promote the inculcation of TGL’s core values as a way of life
- Ensure relevant internal brand visibility
- Engage, Align and Energise employees to become willing ambassadors for the company
Channel Management
- Develop and deploy systems, processes and channels to facilitate timely two-way communication
- Develop a system for identifying and logging internal issues / information to inform management decision-making
- Develop and manage relevant channels for effective continuous engagement and alignment of employees to business goals
- Coordinate the production and distribution of relevant business literature for internal education/information
- Ensure TGL has adequate Intranet exposure by publishing all key events/activities and other relevant stories about the Business Unit within Tullow
Business Partnering to Deliver Specific Projects
- Provide communications support to other Functions
- Identify and develop communication champions for the various functions to support effective internal communication
- Provide support for relevant functional and corporate campaigns (TOES, TOFET, Health Walk, etc) to capture the hearts and minds of employees in the successful delivery of business objectives.
- Support the delivery of all corporate events
Financial Responsibility:
No direct financial responsibility, however, the incumbent must propose and justify spend plan for all internal communications investments (activities, requisitions, purchases)
Person Specification
Education:
Must have a minimum of First degree in Communications, Business Management or Social Sciences. A professional qualification or Masters in Communications or Journalism will be an added advantage.
Skills:
- Relevant experience in managing web-based / social communications tools
- Up-to-date knowledge and management of internal communications platforms
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to use tact, diplomacy and persuasiveness at all levels of an organisation.
- Must demonstrate ability to transform complex information into clear simple key messages relevant to the target
- Good project management skills.
- Ability to multi-task to deliver set objectives on time and in full
- Capacity to work with and in a team
- Ability to work on own initiative / with little supervision
Experience:
- Proven experience of developing and implementing communications strategy
- Must have at least five years corporate experience in Internal Communications management
- Must show evidence of writing skills and sound editorial judgement
