Under minimal supervision, co-ordinates the day-to-day operations for the International Family Planning Fellowship Programme (FPFP) research activities at University of Ghana Medical School/Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and other health care facilities in Accra. This position reports to the IFPFP Director
Responsibilities include co-ordinating the programme’s research activities (i.e. administering research surveys, patient enrollment, data collection, data management, and data analysis), assisting with preparing grant applications and renewals, preparing quarterly and annual reports, convening programme staff meeting and taking meeting notes, facilitating communication with other IFPFP sites and funding agency, maintains programme regulatory documents, and track programme activities
An additional responsibility includes assisting with preparation of programme goals and objectives, programme budget, grant submission, scientific abstract, manuscripts and presentation
This position is for a maximum of two years from the date of hire, and is contingent upon continuation of funding from the The University of Michigan Medical School & Health Systems
Starting Date: Monday, January 03, 2011
Salary: Very attractive and commensurate with experience
Required Skills or Experience
A master’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work or related field
A minimum of two years working experience in a health care setting (preferably, with prior experience as a research project co-ordinator)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other widerly used software programmes and capacity to learn other types of software programmes. Interested on women’s health preferred
The successful candidate will be adept at multi-tasking, have experience working in a health care setting, possess good computer skills, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal Communication skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
