Job Title 1: Procurement Assistant
Job Description

Reports to: Procurement Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the procurement plan for the Entity
- Carrying out of market surveys
- Preparation of tender documents
- Tender opening
- Evaluation of tenders
- Preparation of contract letters
- Management of the tender processes
- Filing & record keeping
Required Skills or Experience
- HND in Purchasing & Supply
- A minimum of four (4) years post qualification relevant working experience in reputable public institutions
Competencies and Skills:
- Good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act 2003
- Quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Word and Excel applications
- Knowledge of storekeeping
- Must be a team player
Job Title 2: Procurement Officer
Job Description
Applications are invited from qualified persons to fill vacant position in the Procurement Unit of the University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the procurement plan for the Entity
- Preparation of tender documents in the area of works
- Tender opening
- Evaluation of tenders
- Preparation of contract letters
- Assist in the management of the tender processes especially in works
Required Skills or Experience
- First degree in Procurement and other relevant fields
- A member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)/first degree
- A minimum of four (4) years post qualification relevant working experience in a reputable institution
- Certificate in Works Procurement Management by GIMPA or any accredited
- A minimum of four (4) years in a reputable organisation
Competencies and Skills:
- Good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act 2003
- Good procurement management skills
- Quantitative and analytical skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word and Excel applications
- Good report writing and presentation skills

Job Title 3: Head of Procurement
Job Description
Applications are invited from qualified persons to fill vacant position in the Procurement Unit of the University.
Job Purpose:
To assist the Entity Head in the planning and management of the University’s Procurement function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning of the procurement function of the University
- Recruitment and development of procurement staff in the University
- Coordinating the activities of the Procurement Office
- Managing the development and implementation of the procurement plan
- Providing inputs for the preparation of annual procurement budget of the University
- Preparing annual and other periodic reports on the procurement function
- Assisting user departments with their procurement to ensure compliance with the Procurement Law as well as achieving value for money
- Assisting in the management and administration of University contract
- Liaising with the regulatory body, the Public Procurement Authority on behalf of the University
Required Skills or Experience
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field or discipline
- A member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)/first degree holder
- A minimum of 10 years post qualification relevant work experience, five years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable institution

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficienct and relevant IT applications
