Job Description

Job Purpose:
To provide sound and timely financial information to management and also ensure compliance with financial regulations as required by regulators. Be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all the accounts departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting management reports
Analyze and evaluate information from the financial reports and provide management with proposals on best practice in financial operations
Assist with annual budget compilation and implement budgetary control procedures
Ensure that all reports to regulators and other external parties are submitted on schedule
Ensure the data integrity of all the company’s financial records
Train subordinates and other staff members on sound accounting practices
Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post and as may be directed by the Group Financial Controller within the company’s policies.

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum of a First degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution plus membership of an Accounting Professsional body
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience of which five (5) years should be in a Managerial role
Possession of an MBA will be an added advantage
Sound knowledge of financial reporting, financial analysis and control techniques
Adept at Microsoft Office products and at least one accounting software
