Job Title: Procurement Supervisor

Summary

• Under broad direction, leads a group of Procurement professionals and plans to source to support manufacturing’s, field operation’s or project management’s strategic plans.
• Complies with and executes Category Management strategy in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Directs the creation of the request for quotations (RFQ) and competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services.
• Responsible for approving the selection and qualification of suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing agreements for the local procurement of goods and services not covered under Category Management.
• Develops strategies to improve supplier performance for spend not under regional or global Category Management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plans sourcing to support manufacturing and operations strategic plans at the plant level
• Complies with and executes Category Management strategy in accordance with policies and procedures
• Directs the creation of request for quotations (RFQ) and competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services
• Responsible for approving the selection and qualification of suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing agreements for local procurement of goods and services not covered under Category Management Develops strategies to improve supplier performance for spend not under regional or global Category Management
• Works with Business Development and Technology to set specifications for products and services to attain market leverage without compromising specified requirements
• Ensures the timely creation of purchase orders in response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operations or project management
• Ensures single and sole source has been executed by the buyer or specifying customer
• Expedites, de-expedites and issues change purchase orders to meet manufacturing, field plant or project demands
• Resolves systemic or process oriented Goods and Invoice Receipt Issues, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
• Facilitates discussions between internal customers and suppliers

Required Qualifications

• Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in General Disciplines
• Possession of an advanced procurement certificate preferred
• Requires a minimum of eight years of experience in procurement which includes experience in purchasing and demonstrated leadership skills
