Valley View University: Director of Finance

The Director of Finance shall be accountable to the Vice President for Financial Administration and ultimately to the Vice-Chancellor

Main Responsibilities:

Ensuring correct legal entity Income Statement and Balance Sheets
Ensuring compliance to internal and external financial reporting requirements
Provision of expert financial advice
Conduct financial reporting in a timely manner
Ensuring alignment with global financial processes and accounting directives
Supervising the day-to-day financial transactios of the University
Give advice and recommendation on the financial progression and growth of the University
Taking full charge of and directing the work of Accounting Sections or a schedule and be able to perform all types of work pertaining to the control of the University expenditure
Regularly reviewing and reconciling various control accounts and reporting to the Vice President for Financial Administration
Taking responsibility for the efficient collection of revenue, the maintenance of detailed accounts of the University, as well as the training ad general supervision of personnel
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned him/her by the Vice Chancellor
Salary: Attractive and Negotiable
Required Skills or Experience

Educational Requirement:

A degree in Accounting plus any professional Accounting qualification – preferably ICA (GH), ACCA, ICMA
A post-graduate relevant qualification e.g. Master’s degree in Management or MBA in Finance is desirable but not essential
Competence Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of tax laws and regulations in Ghana
Excellent knowledge of accounting practices
Good knowledge of standard business practices
Good communication skills
Excellent negotiation, interpersonnel and leadership skills
Excellent knowledge of Accounting Software such as Ms Excel, Sunplus etc
At least five (5) years relevant post qualification experience
Age bracket: Must be between 35-45 years of age
