The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), a subsidiary of the Volta River Authority, whose mission is to procure electricity and distribute it efficiently, safely and reliably in the northern sector of Ghana in a commercially viable manner.

Job Description

Job Function:
Provide legal services and advice to Management and the Board of NEDCo relating to the business of the company

Job Description:

Offer general legal advice and direction to Management in the conduct of company’s business
Direct and co-ordinate the intrepretation of documents or correspondence involving the company and prepare appropriate responses or necessary amendments
Develop systems to monitor and advise on impact of new legislation on projects and agreements relating to the company
Provide legal guidance in bidding process, evaluation, reviews, and negotiations of contracts
Represent the company on litigation matters
Remuneration: Highly competitive compensation package
Required Skills or Experience

Professional Law qualification, plus a post-graduate qualification in Law, Management or Business Administration
Not less than 10 years experience at the Bar, working in a corporate environment, offering legal advice and services to management
Experience as solicitor and Board Secretary
In addition the candidates must have:
Have demonstrated ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff
Be a team player, a good negotiatior, with demonstrated ability to motivate staff and encourage participation in decision-making process
Have strong analytical, supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills
Be energetic, proactive, dedicated, performance-driven and capable of working under stress
