The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), a subsidiary of the Volta River Authority, whose mission is to procure electricity and distribute it efficiently, safely and reliably in the northern sector of Ghana in a commercially viable manner.
Job Description
Job Function:
To direct the management and dissemination of corporate information and serve as mouthpiece for NEDCo in its relations and conduct of official business with the general public in order to create and maintain favourable public image
Job Description:
Responsible for the development and formulation of general policies and procedures relating to the managemet and dissemination of corporate information
Provide advice and services to Management on public relations essential publications
Establish and maintain a system for research and documentation of corporate related information
Prepare speeches for Management, Board and Government Officials, as well as press releases to sensitize the public on NEDCo activities
Identify opportunities for corporate social responsibility ventures to foster goodwill
Establish an in-house newsletter and develop corporate website for NEDCo and ensure that it is monitored and updated to provide up-to-date information to the public
Develop systems to monitor activities of stakeholders and their impact on the operations of NEDCo
Co-ordinate the production of advertisemnets and other promotions on television, radio and newspapers regarding the operations of NEDCo
Remuneration: Highly competitive compensation package
Required Skills or Experience
University degree in Communication Studies, Public Relations or Journalism plus relevant post-graduate qualification
Experience and track record of successful management of corporate information, government and public relations, including development of systems to monitor stakeholder activities and their impact on the company
Experience in production of corporate statutory reports, in-house journals, newsletters and other publications
Knowledge and experience in establishing and maintaining systems for research and documentation of corporate information and development of corporate website.
