The Basin Officer is to oversee the operations and implementation of strategies towards sustainable management and use of water resources in the Tano River Basin:
Provide technical inputs for the development of an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) plan for the Tano basin
Assist in the implementation of the IWRM plan developed for the basin
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders for the management of the basin
Undertake the regulation and licensing of water users and monitoring compliance in the basin in collaboration with the Legal, Monitoring and the Environmental Quality Departments of the organisation
Where assigned as Head of the Basin, serve as the Secretary to the Basin Management Board and focal point for donor related projects in the basin
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Required Skills or Experience
At least a Masters or Post graduate degree from a recognized institution in Natural Resources and other relevant fields
At least six (6) years post qualification experience, three (3) years of which should be in a management position(s) in a reputable organization
Excellent computer skills
Ability to motivate staff to be results oriented
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Team leader and player
Ability to analyse and evaluate data
Initiative and drive to problem solving
