The Role: A high-level position reporting to the MD, the role will provide technical services in the context of the Sisili-Kulpawn Project in Northern Ghana while liaising between SADA and other stakeholders in the field of irrigation and water conservation practices. He or she will be required to review and finalize general technical procedures, Terms of Reference and methodology for the Project design and implementation. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide technical guidance, and support the integration of acceptable standards for environmental and social aspects in the Project design and throughout implementation.

Requirements: A mid-career person with an advanced university degree in a relevant field for irrigation work (hydrology, water conservation, watershed management, dam design, etc.); A minimum of 8 years consistent professional specialization in irrigation planning; Deep-seated knowledge of the country (particularly Northern Ghana) and its irrigation sector; Demonstrated competencies at both policy and field implementation level; Must be able and willing to travel frequently to Northern Ghana; Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to engender cooperation from diverse constituents; Ability to communicate in local dialects.

Duty Station: The successful candidate will be initially stationed in Accra but will eventually relocate to Northern Ghana.
