WUSC is a Canadian registered international development nongovernmental organization with a field presence in Ghana since 1997. WUSC Ghana has been contributing towards the national development goals through partnerships with the government of Ghana, civil society, district assemblies, communities and key development actors.
Job Description
Number of Positions: 3
Locations: Atebubu (Brong Ahafo), Damongo and Bole (Northern Region)
Duration: 18 months
Through its Uniterra programme, WUSC is providing volunteer technical support to the Ghana Education Service to promote education delivery in Ghana and towards achieving the Millennium Development Goal of Universal Basic Education.
At the community level, WUSC/Uniterra programme is supporting select District Education Directorates to design and implement appropriate programmes and strategies that will promote access, performance and retention of girls in basic schools.
WUSC is therefore recruiting three (3) Ghanaian Gender Advocacy Advisors to be placed in the Atebubu, Damongo and Bole District Education Offices. The Advisors will contribute to the enhancement of skills and competencies of the staff of the directorate by introducing new gender advocacy and training methodologies. S/he will be part of a team working with local partners in the district.
