World Vision International is a Christian Relief, Development and Advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Purpose of the position
To provide communications advice and guidance and to implement CHN communication’s plans for World Vision Ghana in line with the campaign design. The role will specifically ensure that the right communications resources are sought developed and distributed to the relevant audiences.

Major Responsibilities

•   Working with the Communications Manager to develop and implement communications plans for various World Vision Ghana programmes.
•   Providing communications advice including crafting of relevant messages, use of the right media channels by critically developing strategic solutions to given communications challenges.
•   Preparing written materials, internal newsletters (Vision Talk), press releases, media briefings, Questions and Answers, training documents, presentation materials and other communications products.
•   Working closely with the World Vision videographer/editor in developing World Vision Ghana documentaries and features.
•   Produce communication resources for World Vision web and social media outlets
•   Participating in communications planning and briefing for example press conferences and media interviews
•   Developing strong media relations with key local and international media
•   Gathering resources for the World Vision partnership offices for Marketing, Communication and Advocacy. Actively contributed to World Vision communications resources like, Scribe, News Vision, Connections and Merlin
•   Media support – Identification and facilitation of opportunities for World Vision to feature in local media.
•   Photography and dissemination of photographic material to International Body of World Vision
•   Videography and documentary support including idea formulation, conceptualisation and implementation
•   Providing relevant communications training to Sub- Branch and IPA managers
•   Providing relevant communication related support to EDR Department during emergencies
•   Work closely with Marketing, Advocacy and Public Relations team

Qualification Required & Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

•   The holder of the position should have at least a Bachelor’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Mass communications/ Journalism or other relevant training from a recognised university or college.
•   Should have a good command of both spoken and written English.
•   Ability to write creatively and edit communication narratives or resources and reports.
•   Should have good photography skills
•   Should be computer literate and experienced in the use of basic software programmes.
•   Should have adequate understanding of World Vision Operations to be able to work programmatically.
•   Should be creative and a team player
•   Should have media contacts
•   Must be flexible, be ready to travel and work under pressure for long and irregular hours and meet strict deadlines.
•   Must have a broad perspective on issues
•   At least two years experience in busy corporate communications, print, electronic or social media office.
•   Videography and video editing skills are an added advantage.

Job Summary

Purpose of the position
Design, implement and maintain all WV Ghana internal networks and telecommunication systems.

Support day-to-day operations of LAN/WAN network connectivity to ensure these are adequate and are operationally optimised to support business needs.

Major Responsibilities

•   Oversee the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, in World Vision Ghana Head Office, Base Offices and ADPs and special projects
•   Establish network specifications by conferring with all users; analysing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; design router and switch administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
•   Plan, design and implement data and voice connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Assist in coordinating and implementing connectivity and infrastructure projects including network and related wiring plans, LANIWAN hardware/software purchases, Partnership special projects: system installations. Manage network device configurations, backup/recovery, maintenance and problem-SOlving in the Head Office, Base offices, ADPs and special projects
•   Maintain LAN topologies and usage documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information;
•   Maintain existing anti-Spam, anti-spyware and anti- virus systems. Define/recommend network and security policies and Implement approved policies to minimise risks.
•   Establish network performance management processes to monitor Local Area Networks and WAN links in all projects.
•   Interact regularly with the Service Desk Team, Administrator and GICT to ensure a good user experience of network services.
•   Work with Internet service providers and GICT to ensure that WV Ghana’s Internet and WAN connections are operating according to agreed service levels.
•   Provide and maintain documentation and guidelines to help users in the efficient use of Local Area and
•   Wide Area Networks and services.
•   Plan for and maintain a call tracking system that enables proper tracking of and rapid response to user calls on all network related issues.

•   Good working knowledge of the following operating systems: – Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Technical Training qualifications required: Qualified MSCE or CCNA or ITIL version 3 foundation

Job Title 3

Purpose of the position
The Project Coordinator for the Building Capacity for Sustainable Livelihoods and Health through Public- Private Linkages in Agriculture and Health Project will be responsible for all country level management and coordination of the CIDA funded World Vision project in Ghana. He/she will be responsible for the leadership of the project in-country team and achievement for country level results as per the project requirements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between McGill University and World Vision Inc. He/she will work closely with the WV Canada Project Manager, WV Ghana Health and Nutrition Specialist (Technical Lead), WV Ghana Grant management team, and partners in the realisation of these goals.

The Project Coordinator provides overall leadership in the implementation of the project, develops and leads advocacy activities, manages and plans project activities, co-ordinates resources and is responsible for training and sustaining project objectives.

Major Responsibilities

•   Provide project oversight leadership and technical expertise for Project team and partners involved in the implementation of the project.
•   Prepare and submit quality reports and other project documents. Including case studies and stories of human interest, to donors and other stakeholders as required.
•   Implement sound financial and administrative management processes: manage and monitor all aspects of project planning and budgeting including spending aqainst approved budgets, regular reviews of programme budgets, submission of cash forecasts and timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting
•   Ensure effective coordination and information sharing with key partners to foster increased and creative collaboration for better programme integration. In conjunction with project partners modify implementation plans as necessary
•   Ensure project staff and partners comply with WVI and Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) regulations as contained in the grant agreement
•   Participate in the development of project specific- data collection instruments, including tools for surveys and research data collection and in assessments including baseline, evaluation and research to be conducted in conjunction with the University of Ghana and McGill University. Record and analyse pertinent data as necessary in collaboration with academic partners.
•   Implement World Vision approved performance management processes to ensure that good accountability and stewardship is achieved and project deliverables are met

Qualification Required & Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

•   Minimum Qualification required: BSc Nutrition, Public Health or related fields. A Master’s degree is preferred
•   Experience: At least 3 years in development facilitation and research
•   Prior experience in integrated nutrition, health and food security programming is preferred
•   Prior experience in Microenterprise Development
•   Working knowledge of Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), formerly CIDA) regulations.
•   Working knowledge of programmes/projects cycle management.
•   Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and key partners
•   Experience in community entry and mobilisation and development facilitation
•   Working knowledge of proposal writing and negotiation skills
•   Computer literate
