World Vision started working in Ghana in 1979.
It currently implements 34 Area Development Programmes (ADPs) in all the 10 administrative regions in Ghana, three institutional and six special projects which directly benefit about two million people through health and nutrition, education, food security, water and sanitation, gender and development, micro-enterprise development and Christian Commitments programs.

There are currently 74,213 Registered Children and 6,000 Registered Families with World Vision Ghana.

Job Description

Job Title:  Partnering & Institutional Capacity Building Officer

Responsibilities

To mobilize, catalyze and broker local level partner engagements focusing on civil society organisations, community based organisations, churches, district/area council/community local government and private organisations/businesses. In addition, the position is required to facilitate partner capacity building and support programmatic implementation to deliver on child well-being.

The Package

  • The position is based in Kintampo with some level of d omestic travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and provide technical backstopping and guidance to programmes staff (Project Officers, Cluster Managers, IDF) on several partnership issues including sub granting, networking, mapping of partners, due diligence, financial and operational reporting etc.
  • Coach, mentor and build WV staff and partners capacity with skills and knowledge to facilitate the growth and development of strong partnerships.
  • Ensure capacity building, compliance and effective utilization of the tools, models, guidelines developed to facilitate effective relationship building, strengthening and management.
  • In consultation with the Partnering and Capacity Building Specialist, facilitate staff capacity building to improve on the knowledge and skill levels of staff in the areas of partnering, networking, collaboration and sub granting.
  • Liaise with Operations and Finance to develop and ensure sub grant processes adhere to WV standards and are effectively implemented.
  • In consultation with the Partnering and Capacity Building Specialist, ensure the organizational and technical capacities of partners are enhanced.
  • Organize and facilitate forums to enhance the sharing and learning of best practices within WVG and amongst partners through forums like partner review meetings.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans, budgets and reports and share them with the Cluster Manager and Partnering & Capacity Building Specialist for review, agreement and approval.
  • Support the development of knowledge products to strengthening of WVG institutional memory as a basis for learning, documentation, monitoring and evaluation of promising practices collaboration and partnering.
  • Support direct implementation of programmatic activities at cluster and AP level
  • Attend and participate in the different activities and events organized by World Vision Ghana at the cluster, regional and national levels as may be required.

Education / Work Experience / Skills

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Development studies, social science, NGO management or any other related field
  • Post Graduate training in capacity building, Institutional Development, net working and monitoring & evaluation will be an added advantage.
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years working experience in an NGO sector (Directly facilitating capacity building and partnerships at a field level)
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Effective communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to work and contribute to team building environment especially in a matrix reporting system
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to exhibit a culture of responsiveness and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
  • Perform other duties as required.
