Job Description
Job Title: Programme Officer (6 Positions)
Job Purpose
• To ensure Solidaridad achieves its objectives with regards to promoting sustainable cocoa production through the provision of technical assistance and market support for quality commodity production
• The role works in the field to ensure these tasks are fulfilled to increase income and improve livelihoods of farmers
Major Responsibilities
Programme Coordination & Management
• Supports the coordinator to coordinate and manage the activities of programme components
• Assists in planning, coordination and documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars and other activities of the programme, focusing on on the technical aspects
• Provide technical trainings on cocoa agronomy and food crop production practices to lead farmer
• Work with relevant stakeholders within the cocoa lfe project to execute programme objectives
• Assists the Programme Manager in the establishment of a database for projects
• Oranises and maintains the projects/programme documentation, filing system and projects/programme library
• Prepares annual work plans for the cocoa life project
• Supports in liaising with other solidaridad projects, concepts and status of implementation, as well as with related experts and staff
Monitoring & Reporting
• Follows up the programme monitoring system and updates information concerning the progress of projects, periodically documents and reports the results of the activities
• Assists in the recording and writing of results in each activity undertaken
• Writes technical and financial reports based on Solidaridad’s specific planning, implementation and reporting procedures
Business Development
• Assists in developing project proposals, concepts and innovations
Communications
• Observes topics directly related to the programme/projects through evaluation by the press, direct dialogue, forum participation, public hearings, seminars, etc
• Orders and distributes projects/programme public relations materials
• Supports organising public relations activities for the programme, workshops, conferences, etc
Qualification Required & Experience
• University Degree in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Business or relevant subject, preferably with specialisation in cocoa agronomy
• At least 3 to 5 years experience in similar role
• Experience in working with policymakers, researchers, consultants and knowledge brokers in international cooperation
• Experience in facilitating community development activities
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
• Superior presentation and facilitation skills
• Capable of working in dynamic, intercultural, multi stakeholder setting
• Excellent communication skills with ability to produce professional reports in English
Location: New Juabeng, West Akyem, Upper West Akyem, Fanteakwa and Suhum/Ayensuano
