ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Compost Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. Fair River International Association for Development is requesting volunteer assistance to train the farmers in compost preparation and application. As well as providing hands on training, the volunteer will also produce a manual on compost production and application. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living are covered.

Job Title: Compost Specialist

Volunteer Qualifications:

• University degree in agriculture or a related field
• At least 5-10 years? experience in the production and application of compost and organic fertilizers.
• The volunteer should be prepared to live in a rural and hot setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air conditioning or internet.
  Previous experience in rural African settings an advantage, although not required.
