ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Pepper Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. Nania Dry Season Farmers Association is requesting volunteer assistance to improve their production of peppers. The volunteer will provide training on a variety of topics, including seed selection, pest and disease control, and irrigation, among others. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Job Description
Job Title: Pepper Specialist, Ghana
Volunteer Qualifications:
University degree in Agriculture, Agronomy,
Horticulture or another relevant field.
At least 5-10 years of experience pepper
production
Proficient computer skills including MS Word and
Excel
The volunteer should be prepared to live in a
rural and hot setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air
conditioning or internet.
Previous experience in rural African settings an
advantage, although not required.
