Job Description
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the role is responsible for all IT infrastructure, communication and services to be provided to ActionAid Ghana (AAG)
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Officer’s duties
The ongoing development of long-term IT strategies for AAG
Technical and operational advice to regional IT support staff
Identification and prioritization of IT needs in each financial year
Specification, ordering and installation of equipment and software
Maintenance and repairs to systems at all levels
Maintenance of network infrastructure and architecture
Maintenance of network infrastructure and architecture
Maintenance of network software systems
Control over software licensing
Data and network security
Control overand maintenance of user accounts
Support of AAG facilities for seminars and conferences
Maintenance of 24-hour email and internet access
Maintaining the quality and relevance of information
Circumstances:
The role involves very frequent travel within Ghana and outside Ghana
Required Skills or Experience
The requirements for the role of Senior IT Officer, as currently constituted are as follows:
Knowledge of Windows 2003/2008, Windows 7 and Vista networks, active directory, DNS, TCP/TP
ESXi Servers management
Knowledge of V-SAT and wireless management
Knowledge of Microsoft Application software
In depth technical knowledge of PC hardware
Competencies:
Knowledge
BSc. Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification with at least 2 years post-qualification working experience in a large IT-based organisation
Behavioural:
Leadership, planning, self organisation, initiative, integrity, judgement, results orientation, problem analysis, oral communication, written communication, team-working, self development, listening, learning, gender awareness and sensitivity
