The Ada College of Education was established in 1965 as a direct response to the Education Act of 1961 that sought to give Free Compulsory Universal Primary Education to all children of school-going age in the country. It was, indeed, one of the 35 post-middle teacher training colleges set up in that year in fulfillment of the vision of the government of the day. This policy directive precipitated the opening up of several primary and middle schools across the country to cater for the huge number of pupils that were to be enrolled. The huge increase in pupil enrollment created a huge deficit in trained man-power to fill the classrooms. Pragmatic steps, therefore, had to be taken to surmount this challenge.

Job Title: 10 Positions

1. Accounting Assistant
Job Summary

• The Accounting Assistant shall assist the finance officer in the overall management and administration of the office and functions

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Accounting option) awarded by a recognised tertiary institution or its professional certificate equivalent
• He/She must have served as a Senior Accounts Clerk in a College of Education or a comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least 4 years

2. College Secretary
Job Summary

• The College Secretary is the Head of the Office of the College Secretariat. He/She shall assist the Principal in the administration and management of the College

Qualification Required & Experience

• Applicant must hold a good first degree and a postgraduate degree in Administration and Management related area
• He/She must have served as Deputy Secretary in a College of Education or in a similar position for at least 4 years

3. Procurement Assistant
Job Summary

• General Procurement duties as directed by the Head of Procurement

Qualification Required & Experience

• Holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Procurement and Supply
• Must be computer literate with relevant working experience with Colleges of Education or in a similar position

4. Stores Assistant
Job Summary

• A Store Assistant will be responsible for General Store duties as directed by the Head of Stores

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must be a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Procurement and Supply
• Must be computer literate with relevant working experience with Colleges of Education or in a similar position

5. Electrician
Job Summary

• He/She would be responsible for General electrical works on the compound

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must be a holder of NVTI electrical or its equivalent with vast working experience in electrification

6. Driver
Job Summary

• The Driver Grade I shall assist the Transport Officer in the performance of general driving duties

Qualification Required & Experience

• A valid Driving License, a minimum of License D with BECE certificate
• SSSCE/WASSCE certificate or Driver mechanic will be an advantage
• Must have 3 years working experience at College of Education or in a similar position
• Must be between 23 to 30 years of age

7. Domestic Bursar (Female)
Job Summary

• Would Assist the Deputy Chief Domestic Bursar in day to day running of the kitchen

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must be a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) Hospitality and Tourism Management
• Relevant working experience with colleges of education is an advantage

8. Guard Grade III (Male & Female)
Job Summary

• The guard will be responsible for safe-guarding life and property on Campus

Qualification Required & Experience

• Passes in WASSCE/SSSCE would be an added advantage
• Candidate must be physically fit must be between 20 to 30 years of age

9. Pantry Hands (Males)
Job Summary

• To assist in day to day Pantry jobs

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must at lest be a B.E.C.E certificate holder
• Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE with Home Economics background would be an advantage
• Must be between 20 to 30 years of age

10. Cooks (Females)
Job Summary

• To be responsible for day to day cooking activities in the kitchen

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must be between 20 to 30 years of age
• Must at least have B.E.C.E certificate
• SSCE/WASSCE with Home Economics background is an advantage
