The Senior QA/QC Engineer will support the Quality Manager to review technical submissions and supervise a team of quality control discipline staff. He/she should be experienced with internal and external quality management related quality assurance and quality control efforts in the different phases of the works; starting from design to commissioning.

Job Description

Job Title: Senior QA/QC Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager by performing the following:
Supporting the implementation of the Quality Management System in the project overall,
Writing status/progress reports for internal and external reporting purposes with regards to implementation of Quality Management System in the different project work packages,
Review of technical submittals such as : specifications, method statements, inspections plans and test plans etc. from the quality assurance and quality control perspective,
Process Inspection Requests (IR) on a daily basis in coordination site engineers and site inspectors,
Assist the Quality Manager while performing quality audits, if needed,
Act as the deputy of the Quality Manager in his absence

Minimum Requirements

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management in project
Minimum 5 years of experience on major infrastructure programme during construction phase
Minimum 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure industry
Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction
Minimum 5 years of experience in the employ of a major contracting firm in a similar role , or engineering consulting firm

Specific skills required:

Ability to manage a small staff
Advanced knowledge of ISO9001 standards
Knowledge of the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and understanding of construction sequencing
Strong technical, procedure and report writing skills
Ability to collate information accurately
Communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Time management and prioritization skills
Able to interface with both clients and other stakeholders at all levels

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical / electrical / architecture
Formal training in IS0 9001 quality management system
Certification as a Quality Auditor will be an advantage
