AMS offers contract surface mining and exploration drilling services to the mining industry throughout West Africa in Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso and Cote D’Ivoire through African Mining Services, and in East Africa in Tanzania and Zambia through Ausdrill International. AMS has provided mining services since 1996 and Ausdrill the parent company has established operations in Africa since 1991.
Job Description
Job Title: Asset Accountant
Key Duties
• Capital/Plant reporting analysis
• Ensuring data validity within the group’s fixed asset registers
• Preparation of the weekly/monthly and ad-hoc asset reports
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Registers (FAR), including monthly updates – Additions, Disposals and Transfers, running month-end asset reports and reconciling FAR with General Ledger
• Ensuring asset finance transfers across the group is in line with the asset sale
• Ensuring insurance transfers across the Group is in line with the asset sale
• Ensuring the asset purchase/disposal and capex function is completed per AMS policy
• Complete the capital budget, including current and growth operations up to 3 year cycles
Qualification Required & Experience
• Must have advanced Accounting Tertiary qualifications with a Post Bachelor qualification – ACCA/CA/CPA
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
• Must have advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
• Must have knowledge in financial software – Pronot/Pulse
• Must have knowledge of principle and practices of accounting nd a commercial and audit environment
• Must have knowledge of statutory Accounting and Tax compliance procedures
• Experience in fixed asset management an advantage
• Proficiency in french will be an advantage
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and e-mail
• Must be self-motivated
• Willing to learn
• An understanding of Mining Regulations will be an advantage
• Must be prepared to travel widely across West Africa
• Ability to plan and co-ordinate activities
• Must posses a Ghanaian driver’s license
Remuneration
• Salary will be offered commensurate with qualifications and experience
