Job Description

Job Title: Production Superintendent

Job Summary

• As a Production Superintendent your role is to assist Management in all physical aspects of open pit mining operations, including (but not limited to) load and haul, drill and blast, such that client and AMS targets are consistently achieved in the most cost-effective manner possible and including safety, health and environmental issues.

Key Duties

• Control the daily, weekly and monthly L&H planning based on the mine site production activities
• Report to the Project Manager or their designate the progress and update of mining activities
• Implement AMS safety and environmental procedures
• Plan the works up to 1 month in advance
• Coordinate plant and machinery utilization with AMS maintenance department
• Understand and apply the Ghana Mining regulations
• Work under the direction of AMS engineers for the efficient operation of L&H Mining
• Contribute to budget forecasts

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Tertiary education qualification in Mining, Civil or related discipline
• Mine Superintendent certificate of competency provided by the inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission of Ghana
• At least 7 years plus working experience in the mining industry with not less than 3 years of experience in surface mining contract field
• Previous proven experience in this role or at least 5 years experience in a senior supervisor role
• Previous and proven ability to strive for best practice in regard to efficiency and effectiveness
• Able to lead a team and take the hard decisions that are sometimes needed for a successful project
• Must have valid First Aid Certificate
• Must have a valid Ghanaian Driving License (with C & E Class)
• Ability to communicate fluently in French is an advantage
