Job Description
African Underground Mining Services Pty Ltd (AUMS), currently West Africa’s largest and leading trackless underground mining contractor, is seeking to recruit qualified Mine Planning and Production Engineers for its Underground Projects in Ghana and Mali, West Africa.
Reporting: Engineering Manager
Remuneration/Other Packages:
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
- Meals and accommodation for single status provided whilst on site
- Travel provided to and from work
- Person recruited for Mali operations should be prepared to work a roster of 8 weeks on duty and 4 weeks off duty whiles persons recruited for Ghana must be prepared to work a roster of 6 days on duty and 3 days off duty however this is subject to change depending on company requirements
Required Skills or Experience
- Must have B.Sc. Mining Engineering or as a minimum a Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognised University
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in Mine Design, Development, Stoping, Ventilation and other Mine Services
- Must have strong software skills in Surpac, AutoCAD or Mine 24D
- Must have knowledge of underground mining techniques for both Development and Production activities and be able to develop short to medium term planning for underground mines
- Must have knowledge in the preparation of blasting patterns as well as planning and executing drill and blast operations
- Must have knowledge of Mining & Explosive Regulations
- Must have excellent work ethic and be willing to travel to various sites within Ghana and Mali
- Written and oral fluency in English. A working knowledge of French will be an advantage
