1. IT Collaboration Systems Engineer

Purpose of Role:
The Collaboration Systems Engineer is responsible for working with all Intranet and Collaboration Systems Stakeholders to analyze business needs, working with the Regional and Site Teams to design appropriate solutions and ensure that the Intranet and Collaboration Solutions meet stakeholder expectation.

General Accountabilities for this role:

  • Support technology solutions to enable business collaboration requirement and processes
  • Provide on-going support of existing Collaboration solutions, business systems and existing applications
  • Provide on-going testing support and development as needed
  • Ensure timely delivery of information to business stakeholders
  • Maintain Current knowledge of rapidly changing collaboration technology market
  • Incorporate collaboration technology services to enable employee-to-employee collaboration in business processes within organizational units such as projects teams and permanent teams
  • Engage with project managers and project sponsors to develop project scope and vision for all collaboration related projects
  • Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics
  • Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios and other methods
  • Participate in the QA of the purchased collaboration solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized
  • Use Standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business stakeholders
  • Communicating changes, enhancement and modifications of business requirement – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood
  • Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members

 

Required Skills or Experience

Required Skilled Knowledge, Qualification, Experience and Statutory Appointment:
University degree in the field of business administration, computer science, engineering, finance or information systems and two to five years related work experience.

  • Training or experience in business-project management
  • Experience working with SharePoint as an administrator, designer or developer
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office
  • At least 2 years experience with collaboration technologies
  • A firm gasp of social collaboration technologies and concepts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process and operations
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specification in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Experience with the organization’s core software applications, including Microsoft SharePoint 2007&2010; Microsoft Office Communicator; WebEx Meeting Centers; Orange Video Conferencing
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail

2. IT Training & Administrative Coordinator

Purpose of Role:
The purpose of the Ghana IT & Administration Coordinator role is to deliver training to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in support of business objectives and provide office management administration services to the IT department.

General Accountabilities for this role:

  • Coordinating with department heads to assess departmental training needs and objectives
  • Create, administer, analyze and report on end user needs assessments and skills assessments
  • Develop and coordinate an overall IT hardware and applications training curriculum for end users of all levels
  • Maintain an efficient and organized office environment
  • Assist with the monitoring of the IT budget
  • Prepare basic reports and cost assignment/billing statistics
  • Assess, recommend and purchase courseware package and support development of appropriate courseware tools
  • Participate in identification and recruitment of instructors and external course providers for specialized software training needs
  • Conduct research into computer-based training products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts
  • Maintain departmental relationships with other service and production departments
  • Design, develop and deliver software application training programs and individual classes
  • Present instructor-led training sessions
  • Develop and deliver new courses for new existing software applications including all course materials and exercise and skills evaluations
  • Review training materials and documentation and keep them up to date
  • Create and communicate trainings schedules in consultation with departmental decision makers
  • Establish and maintain a database to track training participants’ status and result
  • Create and administer training event feedback mechanisms. Analyze result, make recommendations for training improvements, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses
  • Work with internal software developers to keep apprised of changes and upcoming developments in in-house software applications
  • Communications software problems and issues to software development problems and support teams
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in both commercial and custom-built software products used in the organization
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
  • Monitor and maintain the office supply inventory
  • Manage IT leave calendar
  • Manage IT personnel travel arrangement and itineraries
  • Maintaining the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs

Required Skilled Knowledge, Qualification, Experience and Statutory Appointment:

  • Good University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or education and/or 8 years equivalent work experience
  • Certifications in ICDL and Train the Trainers
  • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications, including all Microsoft Productivity Tools and SharePoint Intranet
  • Proven experience with adult learning principle, methodologies and course design techniques
  • Knowledge of trends in computer technology relating to software
  • Experience with building and maintaining course and participant databases
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional and presentation skills

3. Data Center Operations Engineer/Technician

Purpose of Role:
This role is a high energy, hands-on back-office support role involving the monitoring and maintenance of the Data Center environment managed by the technical & infrastructure Services department of the Country-wide IT team. The Data Center Engineer/Technician is part of the core team for the Data Center which the server which host and manages all servers within the IT environment. The job is essentially about managing the server environment, the network environment, the server hardware and software platforms. A key Objective is the maintenance of the System, application and data in a secure, highly-available and recoverable manner.

General Accountabilities for this role:

  • Configures, installs and supports dedicated servers
  • Configures, installs and maintains dedicated network components
  • Monitors all servers to ensure they are not experiencing hardware issues
  • Keeps the data center organized and efficient
  • Troubleshoots physical problems and addresses issues within the facility
  • Installs and upgrades Servers within the data center, including server addictions and server removals
  • Assists the systems Administrator with the provisioning and configuration of virtual servers
  • Configures monitors and verifies files-systems backups for the storage systems
  • Configures, monitors and verifies file-systems restores and test restores to ensure restorability of backed-up media and data
  • Works on trouble tickets
  • Loads, installs and maintains Os on dedicated and virtual servers
  • Troubleshoots problems on dedicated and virtual servers
  • Diagnoses and resolve problems
  • Monitors systems performance along with tuning and capacity planning
  • Provisioning: Knowledge of provisioning processes, able to troubleshoot new implementations. Provides feedback to engineers and management to help streamline provisioning flow
  • Infrastructure: Ability to monitor and respond to environmental, networking and electrical issues in an emergency
  • Networking: Capable of building custom cables (CAT5e, CAT6) and wiring custom racks
  • Documentation: Thorough and concise documentation of procedures and bug tracking; can apply logic and analytical skills to tracing and formally documenting all steps taken during troubleshooting

  • Degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent working background
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent
  • A+ Hardware Certified or equivalent
  • 3+ years in Strong hardware/Server support roles
  • Able to configure Windows Server 2003 and 2008 operating Systems
  • Working knowledge of common TCP/IP protocols such as talent, ssh, ftp, smtp
  • Ability to telnet and console into switches, routers and other net working equipment to assist our Network engineers in administration and troubleshooting connectivity issues
