ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (Subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operates the combines Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a workforce of over 1400. including contractors. It is a former NOSA 5 Star “Platinum” related mine, which has gained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) Certification and currently implementing OHSAS 18001 Safety Management System.

Job Description

Location: Obuasi Mine, Ghana

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the implementation of all initiatives under the Office of the Senior Vice President – Ghana.

Tasks:

• Assist in the implementation of a Stakeholders’ Engagement Framework
• Monitor and assist in the implementation of business units’ transformation initiatives
• Monitor communication practices within business units
• Assist the Company Secretary in the preparation of AGA Ghana Exco Meetings
• Provide assistance in the implementation of Ghana Sustainability initiatives
• Assist the VP Transformation in the review of monthly operations performance

Reporting Lines:
The incumbent will be a member of the Ghana Project Management Office (PMO) and will be reporting to the VP Transformation Ghana.

Interfaces:

• Regular communication and interfaces will be required with other members of the Ghana PMO
• The incumbent will be expected to gain access to information though communication with members of business units’ management team
• Regular feedback is expected to be provided to the SVP Ghana, VP Transformation, Managing Directors of Ghana business units, and relevant CARO team members

Required Skills or Experience

• A Master’s Degree in the field of Sciences, Engineering/Management/Sustainability
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the gold mining industry

Additional skills required:

• Excellent Communication skills
• Ability to coordinate, and monitor progress on various projects
• An understanding of Sustainability issues affecting the mining industry
• Ability to engage with various internal and external stakeholders and achieve results
• Assertive
• Sound knowledge of Spreadsheet Applications (MS Excel), with the ability to design Financial Models
• Advanced knowledge of Project Management Applications (MS Project)
