AngloGold Ashanti Recruits Xray Technician

Perform radiological examinations, audiometry, spirometry, vision screening duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients to feel comfortable during the process

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following:

Prepare patients and operate x-ray equipment to secure desired radiographs for diagnostic, screening and medical examination purposes following established procedure for patient care and safety
Protect patients, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards
Supervises and participates in the processing of film through developing, fixing, washing and drying processes, keeps darkroom and x-ray room in a neat and orderly condition.
Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs and performs special radiological investigations as requested by the RMO.
Ensure that all equipment are in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations .
Report immediately any equipment malfunctioning to the RMO
Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
Identify and file reports as required
Maintain x-ray room, stock necessary radiological supplies Request, retrieve and track files to and from other sections of the Hospital
Train National Service persons, attachment students and subordinates technicians in the operation of x-ray equipment and in safety procedures involving radiation hazards
Perform related duties as required

Required Skills or Experience

A current certification or license in X-Ray Technology from a recognised institution
Minimum of 2 years working experience as an X-Ray technician and must be computer literate
Must have adequate knowledge in Mine Safety Regulation and practices
Considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in the operation of x-ray equipment
Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the processing of x-ray film
Must have good knowledge of safety procedures
Considerable knowledge of human anatomy and the proper positioning of patients to secure desired radiographs
General knowledge of the operating principles of x-ray equipment
Ability to supervise and train subordinate technicians and student technicians
Ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of patients
