Aspire Food Group is an international social enterprise dedicated to the sustainable practice of farming edible insects. With offices in the US and Ghana, Aspire seeks to farm locally desired insects as a way to address food insecurity. In Ghana, Aspire farms the palm weevil larva, a local delicacy that has been traditionally harvested. In addition, Aspire Ghana has also taught several hundred farmers in Southern and Central Ghana to be able to farm their own larva as a source of household animal protein and as an opportunity for increased income. Aspire Ghana seeks to rapidly scale its production, co-develop packaged products, take advantage of export opportunities to other West African countries, and to advance research on the palm weevil larvae.

Job Description

Job Title: Field Sales Associate

Role description: Aspire Food Group Ghana is looking for an outspoken, driven, analytical, passionate, enthusiastic, optimistic and committed field sales associate. The field sales associate would drive sales relationships in the food service industry. The associate would also facilitate sales to consumers through wholesalers, retailers and food merchants. Their work would help to formulate the branding and sales strategy of Aspire Food Group Ghana through their insights, data collection and market intelligence

Tasks/duties:

• Solicit, negotiate and manage sales relationships with food service entities, wholesalers, retailers in both the informal and formal sector
• Document and systematize customer feedback
• Coordinate with administrative, operations and product development staff to deliver on sales commitment
• Investigate and execute
• Use sales data and feedback to adapt field sales strategy
• Use field sales data to contribute to pricing strategy
• Identify unique distribution and go-to-market strategies
• As the organization is going through a period of aggressive growth, the associate must be flexible, nimble and willing to evolve with the organization’s growth and dynamic needs

Requisite Skills:

• Working proficiency in spoken and written English, native proficiency in oral Twi
• Bachelor’s level degree in Marketing or related Business field
• Highly proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Excellent people skills
• Experience in selling a product or service (preferably a food product)
• Diligent, punctual, hardworking
• Ability to work independently
• Resourceful
• Excellent communication skills; familiar with quick & responsive email communication
• Organized, very good record keeping and documentation skills
• Enjoys working in the field and using public transportation
• Ability to troubleshoot, be adaptable, and dynamic

Start Date: as soon as possible

Compensation: commission-based
