Aspire Food Group is an international social enterprise dedicated to the sustainable practice of farming edible insects. With offices in the US and Ghana, Aspire seeks to farm locally desired insects as a way to address food insecurity. In Ghana, Aspire farms the palm weevil larva, a local delicacy that has been traditionally harvested. Aspire Ghana seeks to rapidly scale its production, develop commercial products, and to advance research on the palm weevil larvae.

Job Description

Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Role description: Aspire Food Group Ghana is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, administrative assistant to support our Office Manager and the entire team to run a smooth operation. Tasks include managing the office supplies inventory, organizing staff events/meals, procuring farm materials, and helping with HR administration. The daily tasks will be varied and to be dealt with swiftly and efficiently.

You must be able to transport yourself to the on-site location of Aspire Ghana’s farm on Mango Road, KNUST Campus daily.

Tasks/duties:

  • Manage office supply inventory
  • Manage staff food inventory
  • Data entry
  • Coordinating repairs and maintenance servicing
  • Negotiating purchases with vendors
  • Organizing staff events (meals, team building events)
  • Supporting sales team with marketing and sales projects
  • Manage storage room

Requisite Skills/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 1+ year of administrative work experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Gmail, Google Drive
  • Fantastic organizational skills
  • Diligent, punctual, hardworking
  • High level of flexibility
  • High level of proactivity
  • Ability to work well with limited direction as well as in teams
  • ‎Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Fast learner
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills; quick & responsive email communication
  • Excellent record keeping and documentation skills

Start Date: as soon as possible

Compensation: commensurate with experience

Benefits: mobile allowance, health insurance after a 3-month probation period
