We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional and enthusiastic individual with the imagination and determination to deliver first class communications support services to the business.
To support the Head of Corporate Affairs in delivering the Bank’s communication strategy and to also optimize usage of internal communication channels
To develop an annual communications plan for the country in conjunction with the Head of Corporate Affairs for approval and implementation
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand Communication needs and expectations, and provide necessary communication support to the Leadership team
Ensure there are internal communication strategies, plans and materials in support of business objectives, linking to and co-ordinating with Barclays Africa level internal communications strategy & plans
Write and publish relevant materials for intranet, newsletter and other local channels
Establish and manage local internal comunication channels e.g. Notice boards, communication champions, website and intranet channels
Produce a Company Newsletter for colleagues to provide effective communications that ensures alignment with company strategies
Proactively seek to position Barclays as the Employer of Choice through creative, leading edge communications strategies
Establish and nurture a healthy two-way communication process with target audiences to enhance and build ongoing information flow
Identify Public Relations opportunities for the country and develop appropriate programmes
Required Skills or Experience
At least 3 years communications experience with a blue chip company or financial institution
Degree in Communication or related qualification
Track record of advising senior executives on communication and Public Relations issues
Knowledge of management of intranet and internet tools
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop communication plans (internal and external)
Experience in the management of internal communication channels
Strong project management, organisation and co-ordination skills (campaign planning and crisis management)
Results and delivery focused
Effective in managing teams and building networks
