1. Maintenance Mechanics – Trucks & Loader – Drills
Job Description
Artisans – Underground Mobile Maintenance (Sandvik Equipment).
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to fill the vacancies within its Maintenance and Engineering Department.
- The incumbents will conduct preventative, corrective and planned/unplanned repairs to the mobile equipment fleet. In addition, they should comply with all company procedures, set rules, regulations and safety standards, whilst maintaining the Barrick core values and attaining best industry standards
These position offer competitive salary packages, which will include excellent benefits.
Required Skills or Experience
- Candidates should have completed a structured and recognised Mechanical apprenticeship and possess a Mechanical trade certificate, from a recognised and authorised body (FTC).
- A complete understanding of diesel engine construction, maintenance and operation is essential, as is good knowledge of torque converters and multiclutch transmission systems and their control.
- Candidates should be conversant with hydraulic system construction and operation, possess auto electrical knowledge of starter and charging circuits, and have trackless underground mobile maintenance experience.
- Experience in skills transfer and team development in a cross-cultural environment is a requirement, while experience on Sandvik equipment is highly desirable

4. Gold Plant Mechanical Foreman
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to appoint a Mechanical Foreman at the Gold Processing Plant to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance activities for the Gold Plant, TSF dam and fire suppression system at BGM are properly planned and executed.
- This will mean ensuring that the maintenance budget is met through effective cost control and adhering to the weekly maintenance plan. The incumbent will address equipment failures and other sources of unplanned work, effectively balancing planned and unplanned work in order to achieve availability targets.

Required Skills or Experience
- Practical experience of 5-10 years, preferably in mining/heavy industry and gold plants, is a requirement, and should be complemented by at least 2 years’ frontline supervisory experience, preferably in a mining/heavy industry environment.
- Exposure to the mechanical trade and experience in a minerals processing plant are key.
