Cambridge University Press is looking for talented Higher Education Sales Representative in its Academic business stream targeted for strong growth for a renowned academic brand.  Higher Education Sales Reps visit college and university campuses as well as conduct outbound sales calling campaigns within their geographical territory, and this role will be based remotely in the upper Mid-west. They will meet with faculty members and assist in matching Cambridge textbooks & course books to their course requirements.

Job Description

Job Title: College Sales Representative

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Sales – Achieve the sales/adoption targets for territory though consultative sales approach
  • Strategy – Identify key opportunities in assigned territory and send samples to key decision makers to deliver growth.
  • Relationships – Maintain excellent key external & internal relationships to drive growth, develop our market position and facilitate innovation.
  • Reporting – Provide sales reports covering highlights and faculty feedback, competitor activity, market trends etc.
  • Forecasting – Accurately maintain & manage the customer database & sales pipeline to provide a monthly updated 12-month pipeline view of territory.
  • Adoptions – Focus on both roll-over of a targeted number of existing adoptions & secure targeted number of new adoptions
  • Industry Awareness – Maintain & develop your knowledge of industry developments.

You will have a strong understanding of current print and digital trends in the US. Experience with the databases and required tools for successful sell-through is essential. You will attend relevant events and conferences, and interact with authors, instructors, end-users and others to gain customer insight and market awareness.

Qualified candidates will possess 3-4 years of sales experience in textbook publishing. Candidates should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationship.
