Chemonics seeks a logistics management information system advisor for an anticipated Global Fund project to support the design and implementation of a comprehensive logistics management information system (LMIS) in Ghana. The project will support the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service in strengthening the country’s health supply chain system. The LMIS will document health-commodity logistics data and include functionalities that enhance users’ ability to apply this information. LMIS information will improve forecasting, budgeting, procurement, inventory control, storage, distribution, and reporting from the health facility level to the central level. The position will be based in Accra and have a minimum duration of one year. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Job Title: Logistics Management Information System Advisor

Responsibilities include

  • Provide project leadership through strategic planning, management, and technical implementation to achieve objectives
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Global Fund, local partners, and other stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance to design and implement LMIS, including supporting development, testing, staff training programs, implementation, and IT procurement
  • Create requirements/specifications for an automated LMIS/inventory management system for Ghana’s supply chain system
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to meet stated objectives to improve data visibility, standardization, and comprehensiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field and/or project management certification required; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience managing LMIS programs
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in health systems strengthening, design, and reform, specifically in a developing country
  • Technical expertise and experience in information systems, IT, public health, and/or commodity logistics; experience with Ghana’s public health supply chain preferred
  • Proven ability to direct other staff, work as part of a team, self-manage tasks, and provide technical assistance
  • Experience working with Ministry of Health officials in low- and middle-income countries
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, plus advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Attention to detail, assertiveness, and commitment to results
