Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the institution’s financial decision making. In particular, clarity will be required on reserves, expense ratios and income mix questions
Ensure the appropriateness of the key assumptions included in the institution’s medium term financial plan and annual budget proposals. Provide advice to senior management colleagues and board on these matters
Contribute to the preparation of the institution’s strategic plan. Prepare the annual budget and forecasts
Advise the finance committee and other board members on major financial issues which arise and which are outside the agreed boundaries of management authority, for example, a proposed major new funding or investing initiative
Advise finance committee on the financial and tax implications of any major expansion or contract

Required Skills or Experience
Qualification/Personal attributes:
A Chartered Accountant (CA (Ghana), ACCA, CIMA, CPA), with a degree/diploma in Management/Commerce/Accounting. An MBA (Accounting/Financial Management) would be an advantage
At least four years of working experience, two years of which would be in a management position
At least two years would cover significant managerial experience, ideally in a public accountancy firm, a private/public sector institution or business enterprise of size similar to Data Link University College
Experience with financial information systems, and awarenesss of developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and best practice in financial management of educational institutions
