Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries, you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within TAS include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modeling.

Job Description

Job Title: Transaction Advisory Services Senior – Transaction Support 

Job summary

As a Senior within the Transaction Support team, you’ll participate in due diligence engagements related to transactions involving private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers. You’ll analyze the financial and operational results of companies targeted for sale by reviewing accounting records and participating in interviews with management. You’ll work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress.

Client responsibilities

  • Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact cash flow requirements and deal valuation
  • Perform industry and company research utilizing online tools and    publicly available information
  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring
  • Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel

People responsibilities

  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
  • Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting and retaining Transaction Support professionals
  • Maintain an educational program to develop personal skills on an ongoing basis
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
  • Build strong internal relationships with members of the Transaction Support team and other

Technical skills requirements

  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Ability to understand, manipulate and interpret financial data and commercial documentation and reports, drawing appropriate conclusions
  • Highly numerate with a natural interest in Excel and strong experience financial modeling; for example, in the fields of acquisitions, refinancing, project finance or other corporate finance transactions

Additional skills requirements

  • A strong academic record including, a degree
  • Possession of CA, ACCA, CPA or CFA certification is a plus
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas. Proven track record in emerging markets is desirable
  • The high degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed
  • Experience of working in a professional services environment, including exposure to high profile transactions, would be a distinct advantage
