Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Manager

The Role:
Responsible for all activities related to technical support for operation activities in Ghana including
– Keeping and improvement of asset integrity and facility performance of the fleets in Ghana through system performance measurement, inspection of the integrity, root cause analysis, (practical and feasible) solution finding and introduction of new technology
– Sharing of lesson learns and operational input into new EPC projects to ensure the facility performance
– Management and development of competency of engineers working for the fleets in Ghana

Core Responsibilities

Report to Operation Support manager to develop strong technical team in Ghana to support operation day-to-day business
Play a key role in maintaining knowledge database (Lessons learned) as well ensure that corrective actions are initiated on the west Africa fleet, as applicable, auditing monthly the inclusion of the forms in the system.
Owner of case to operate, maintain and update safety case, ensure proper assurance tasks are incorporated into CMMS.
Designate the Technical Authority to support Operation Team and ensure all the “change” goes through MOC process as per procedure with proper risk assessment
Responsible for technical support for any brownfield projects, maintaining and updating of the as-built documents/drawings
Managing a group of engineers to take lead in preparation of the system performance measurement, analysis/finding of potential loss or bottlenecks and redefining/debottlenecking of new operating parameters to ensure the higher performance of the plant.
Responsible for the technical part of contract amendments providing justification for the action to be taken;
Prepare budget of engineering department and ensure that expenditure is in accordance with approved budget
Ensure the review of company standard procedures and specifications applicable for engineering, getting the comments from all the managers involved in this subject
Participate and provide technical input to the risk ranking work shop held in weekly basic.
Deals with regulatory issues that affect engineering of the assigned disciplines and ensures that Engineers comply with regulatory requirements and policies at all times.
Deals with people issues in the Engineering Department assigned to including performance appraisal, staff development, staff grievances and staff motivation
Supports procurement and sub-contracting activities as applicable including selection and prequalification of vendors and sub-contractors
