Responsible for developing activities within the expertise area (mechanical / piping), that will evaluate and identify improvement in operations conditions as studies and suggestion to introduce new technologies and implement lessons learned to improve the performance and availability of the fleet and ensure that projects meet specifications and standards.
Job Description
Job Title: LEAD MECHANICAL / PIPING ENGINEER
Duties will include the following:
Generate modifications and improvements proposals for FSOs and FPSOs related to piping systems and mechanical equipment, by performing Inspection on-board or receiving feedback from offshore team. Consider new technology to be applied if applicable.
Verify any failure in the performance of mechanical equipment (static and/or rotating), prepare engineering analysis and implement a root cause analysis study.
Assist operation team with vibration analysis in rotating equipment to avoid unexpected shutdown.
Act as Technical Authority supporting Operation Team analysing MOCs, technical queries etc.
Create the design philosophy & functional specifications, developing, maintaining and updating the documents.
Implement the Lessons Learned database
Evaluate the existing equipment systems due new condition developing studies and implement modifications when applicable
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An engineering degree from an internationally recognised university
