Ghana Bauxite Company: ShiftBoss/Shift Supervisor

A Mining Company in the Western Region is seeking to employ a dynamic Shift Boss with the Following competencies:

The Role:
Key to this role is the execution of instructions and adherence to standards and procedures. Emphasis is generally on ‘how’ and ‘how best’ to overcome obstacles encountered during shift. The incumbent focuses on finding ways and taking responsibility for corrective action that would eliminate problems and guarantee compliance with goals and objectives.

• The Mining supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Mining fleet and contractors working in the mining area during the shift
• He is to ensure that bush clearing, stripping, drilling and blasting operations and carried out in safe manner
• He will oversee the delivery shift production targets and coaching/mentoring of teams members (operators, drillers, blastmen) for continuous improvement

Required Skills or Experience

To be considered for this position, the successful applicant will need the following skills and experience:

• At least 2 years experience in an open pit mining environment with some previous supervisory experience
• He should possess a Blasting and shiftboss certificate of competency
• He should be able to drive

Mandatory:

• Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years mining experience
• Computer literacy
• English proficiency
