Ghana Civil Aviation Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the under mentioned vacancy in the Corporate Planning Department of the Authority.

Under the supervision of the Director-General, the incumbent will ensure that all the various functions/taks are performed as indicated below:

The incumbent will perform the following functions:

  • Lead, direct and formulate, in coordination with other department, the Authority’s corporate strategy set to achieve the planned organization’s future state for the overall general policy of all departments
  • Lead, direct and coordinate the setting of departmental goals/objectives and their realization within specific time frame in order to achieve the planned future state
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of recurrent and capital expenditure budget, human and financial capital and other resource requirement to implement plans
  • Monitor corporate performance, departmental objectives and resource requirement including capital and recurrent expenditure
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
  • Prepare monthly management brief on factors e.g. Economics, Industry, and Regulatory that are likely to affect the attainment of cooperate/departmental objectives
  • Evaluate the viability of capital project to establish a threshold of accepting/rejecting business case projects
  • Organize seminars, workshops for staff and other stakeholders to increase capacity in strategic planning knowledge, processes and skills
  • Conduct benchmark studies for continuous improvement in corporate planning process
  • Prepare periodic briefs to outline national government directions for management
  • Attend performance contract signing negotiation and other functions
  • Develop/review frameworks for the preparation and monitoring/evaluation of plans, budget and performance report
  • Prepares periodic strategic briefs/action plans
  • Coordinate the preparation annual budget
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual performance report


Required Skills or Experience

The applicant must have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance & Accountancy and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting option) or its equivalent Professional qualification /MBA (Aviation Management/Strategy/Entrepreneurship/General Management)
  • At least ten (10) years post qualification experience of which five (5) years must be in a senior management role in the aviation or air transport industry
  • Working experience in the aviation industry in management position will be considered an advantage
  • Working knowledge in French will be considered an advantage

Knowledge and Skills:
Applicant must have:

  • Management competencies e.g. Coaching Delegation, Effective Communication, Setting High Standards and getting results etc….. Knowledge of the Planning Techniques, Aviation Industry, National and International Economics
  • Strong analytical and effective oral & written communication skills. Must be computer literate
