Job Description

Purpose:
To assist the Pharmacist to dispense drugs to patients
Issues drugs/dressings to various units, wards, threatre, etc
Carries out compounding of various pharmaceuticals
Fills in prescriptions and performs counter dispensing
Assists pharmacist to make requisitions to the Medical Stores
Monitors the shelf life of drugs in the dispensary and reports to the pharmacist
Assists pharmacist to keep up-to-date records of drugs in the dispensary
Supervises the cleaning of equipment/facilities used in compounding
Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

HND Dispensing Technologist Certificate with 3 years post qualification experience
