The Ghana Cocoa Board invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the undermentioned position: Director, General Services, Head Office.

Purpose:
To initiate and develop appropriate policies and procedures on properties, transport and communication services for the approval of the Board of Directors.

  1. Formulates policies and procedures for Works Contract and Maintenance of the Board’s bungalows, offices, warehouses, shed, etc
  2. Advises Management on the acquisition of property and engagement of consultants for the Board’s projects
  3. Ensures that drawings/tender documents prepared by consultants and Technical/Estate Officers for Board’s project are reviewed
  4. Co-ordinates the activities of the transport section to ensure that adequate transport facilities or service to all staff of the Board especially those on trekking duties are provided
  5. Ensures that COCOBOD’s vehicles and communication equipment are efficiently managed
  6. Ensures the smooth and regular provision of services such as transport and communication facilities to all functional areas of the Board
  7. Prepares and submit periodic reports on the activities of the department to the Deputy Chief Executive (F&A)
  8. Performs any other duties that may be assigned to him by his superior officers

  3. Setting of objectives and assigning responsibility for tasks and decisions; monitors process, progress and results and designs feedback loops into work
  4. Uses resources effectively and efficiently to manage multiple activities at once to accomplish goals

Management:

Advertisement
  1. Have skills in the negotiation of contracts and the preparation of reports
  2. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  3. Excellent organizational skills
  4. Good time management skills
  5. Have ability to make effective decisions and follow up
  6. Able to direct, motivate, co-ordinate and control activities of others

Technical:

  1. Should have a solid technical background
  2. Should have current knowledge in building methods
  3. Should be computer literate with a good knowledge in current software applications

Minimum Qualification:

  1. A First Degree in Engineering, Land Economy, Architecture Building Technology
  2. A Masters Degree in Engineering, Land Economy, Architecture, Building Technology, or Project Management
  3. Plus Diploma/Certificate in Management from a recognized institution
  4. A member of Ghana Institute of Engineers/Surveyors/Architects
  5. At least twelve (12) years relevant post-qualification working experience in the areas of managing properties, transport, mechanical workshop and communication services and 9 (nine) years of which should have been in the managerial grade
