The Council for Law Reporting which by its establishment statute, Council for Law Reporting Act, 1972 (NRCD 64) as amended, is responsible for the publication of the Ghana Law Reports and the Review of Ghana Law, requires applications from qualified personnel to fill the position of: Editor, Ghana Law Reports

The successful applicant would be the Chief Executive of the Council for Law Reporting and would, among others, be responsible for the following.

Job Description

Job Title: Editor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the attainment of the Council’s mandate
• Leads the development of the council’s policies, strategies, programmes and ensure the implementation of the decisions of the governing board of the council
• Formulate and implement editorial policies for the publication of the Ghana Law Reports and the Review of Ghana Law
• Co-ordinates the screening and selection of reportable judgments, rulings, decisions and opinions from the Superior Courts of Judicature
• Co-ordinates the preparation and editing of manuscripts for the Ghana Law Reports and the Review of Ghana Law
• Co-ordinate the conduct of research on articles, comments and other materials for publication in the review of Ghana law
• Responsible for the final editing of manuscripts for the council’s publications

Qualification Required & Experience

• Applicant must have a Degree in Law from a recognised University
• Must have been called to the Ghana Bar and is of at least 12 years standing as a lawyer
• Must have at least 12 years Post-Call relevant work experience in a private or public institution, 5 years of which should have been in senior management position

OR

• Applicant should be a person who is qualified to be appointed as a Judge of the Court of Appeal of Ghana.
