Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) is a Limited Liability Company with the mandate to build, own and operate the infrastructure for gathering, processing and delivering natural gas to industry in safe, cost effective, responsible and reliable manner.

We are currently seeking suitably qualified persons for the following position:

Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Legal Manager

Key Responsibilities

•   Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of a compliance programme and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct
•   Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigate procedures
•   Monitor, and as necessary, coordinate compliance activities of other departments
•   Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk
•   Develop / implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
•   Work with the Learning & Development Unit and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training programme, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as on-going training for all employees and managers
•   Prepare monthly / quarterly and annual legal report(s)
•   Advise Senior Management on new and regulatory developments and issues which may impact the business

Qualification Required & Experience

•   LLM and LLb from an accredited tertiary institution and must be called to the Ghana Bar
•   Minimum of 5 years post call experience

Required Personal Attributes

•   Hands-on, proactive, independent -minded individual with good people management skills
•   Strong knowledge of legal principles and drafting of legal documents
•   Result orientated with the ability to analyse situations and make timely decisions



•   Ability to supervise legal officers performing professional legal work
•   Previous experience in a similar position in the energy or related industry
•   Strong planning and organization skills; and ability to resolve sensitive legal issues
