The EZ Trainee Program is a junior funding program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Training is provided for German and multilateral development cooperation (DC) organizations. The program is implemented by the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the BMZ.

Job Description

Job Title: Graduate Trainee Program

During the 17-month training, you will go through three practice stations. After one month of preparation, you start your 8-month assignment in this project abroad, a 3-month assignment with an international organization and end with a 5-month assignment in the BMZ.

In the area of governance, the programs “Good Financial Governance” and “Support for Decentralization Reforms” are being implemented in Ghana on behalf of the BMZ and with the help of numerous co-financings. The partner consultation is already closely interlinked in both programs, and from October 2019 the programs will be merged.

Future advice will also focus on increasing self-employment, building realistic and transparent budgets, and improving accountability at all levels of government.

Their main fields of activity will be the support of the technical coordination, the impact-oriented monitoring and the strategic planning of the program, as well as the topic mobilization of own revenues.
Your tasks

Support in building an impact-oriented monitoring system and strategic planning for the new governance program
Composing situations and speaking points on different topics
Support in the integration and generation of synergies of the national and subnational level in the mobilization of own revenues
Updating and mapping the activities and actions of different donors
Public relations through different communication media

These professional qualifications will bring you:

Study of economics, politics, social sciences or law

The following knowledge and experiences complete your qualifications:

Knowledge of development cooperation
First practical experience in a developing country
Necessary professional knowledge in the field of good financial governance and / or decentralization
Fluent language skills in English and German

The knowledge and experience may have been acquired through an internship
