Job Description

Job Title: Communications Manager, GGBL

PURPOSE

The role is dedicated to the implementation as well as the monitoring and evaluation of how successfully communications is integrated across the business functions.  The strategy consists of both internal and external activities that will engage key stakeholders – employees and others – to promote and protect the corporate image of GGBL and help the company deliver its vision and business objectives.  The role also requires leadership on the development and delivery of GGBL’s Brand PR strategy.
An activist communications function which: leverages our market leadership and consumer passion for our brands; delivers targeted visibility of GGBL;  ensures a better understanding and positioning of our values, visions and goals within the context of Ghana’s national and development priorities; builds emotional engagement among key stakeholders and opinion makers to deliver public policy priorities that protect our freedoms to produce and market in a transparent, predictable and competitive legal and regulatory environment.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Qualification in public relations, marketing or journalism at degree level or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working at a strategic level on organization or business related communications or public relations.
  • Proven track record in the development and implementation of communications strategies.
  • Proven track record of ensuring effective internal communications.
  • Ability to effectively and confidently engage the entire echelon/hierarchy of employees
  • A strategist with deep consumer understanding skills/ability
  • Proven experience of working with the media in Ghana.
  • Capable of managing communications issues in a sensitive/controversial environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor effectiveness and impact of all GGBL communication activities and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure integration of our Sustainability and Responsibility programs in internal and external communications.
  • Develop and implement an innovative Brand PR strategy that supports the marketing of our premium brands.
  • Work closely with Communications functions globally, functional teams and Executive team to ensure that initiatives have a robust communications plan.
  • Develop innovative employee engagement activities, actively seeks and uses new approaches and technologies to connect even more effectively with employees.
