The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) was established under the National Health Insurance Act 2003, Act 650, as a body corporate, with perpetual succession, an Official Seal, that may sue and be sued in its own name. As a body corporate, the Authority in the performance of its functions may acquire and hold movable and immovable property and may enter into a contract or any other transaction.
A new law, Act 852 has replaced ACT 650 in october 2012 to consolidate the NHIS, remove administrative bottlenecks,introduce transparency, reduce opportunities for corruption and gaming of the system, and make for more effective governance of the schemes
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) invites applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following vacant position: MIS Officer
Job Title: MIS Officer – Hardware Technician
Job Purpose: To provide support for the maintenance and repair of ICT hardware and software related issues
Job Location: All Regional offices (10) & Head Office (1)
Key Responsibilities:
• Repair and configure computers, printers, tablets and other computer accessories
• Maintain formal schedules and procedures for maintenance of ICT equipment
• Liaise with the Helpdesk, District Offices,Healthcare Providers and external repair services for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving ICT equipment.
• Ensure timely transportation of ICT items (PC’s, printers, tablets, consumables,etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site or to bring equipment in for repairs.
• Coordinate timely repair and return-to-service of ICT equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements
• Assist in the issuance of ICT Consumables to user District Offices while keeping accurate logs of same
• Work with the MIS Directorate to communicate to users any update on the ICT platform that has an impact on the use of hardware and software applications
• Assist users on effective use of all hardware Provide help-desk and on-site technical support of hardware and related
• Provide help-desk and on-site technical support of hardware and related software
• Ensure the anti-virus software is always up to date and share necessary information with users regarding potential risks
• Any other duty that would be assigned
Qualification Required & Experience
• Minimum of Higher National Diploma in Computer Technologies (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years relevant working experience in a reputable institution A+ and N+ Certification will be an advantage

• Good experience and knowledge in repair and maintenance of ICT hardware
• Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and network protocols
