Job Description
The objective of this new role is to develop and implement safety programmes in accordance with company policies and Ghanaian legislation. The job will be a full time and based at the Esaase Gold Project site.
Reporting to the GM – Health, Safety, Environmental and Community, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and documentation of risk management and standard operating procedures within a framework of continuous improvement
- Leading and/or participating in incident reporting, investigation, finding root causes and taking remedial actions
- Conducting safety inductions for all visitors and new employees
- Coordinating safety training for employees
- Carrying out routine inspections of workplaces
- Tracking and reporting progress on safety initiatives

Required Skills or Experience
- A degree or equivalent in engineering or science. A formal qualification in Health and Safety is preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience in a safety role in the mining industry
- Knowledgeable on operational and technical issues related to health and safety
- Competent with common computer software
- High degree of personal integrity and good communication skills
