Description
On Site IBM System p Administrator would provide 2nd and 3rd Level support for the customer p series servers. Generally, the tasks include break fix/solving problems on client platform and hardware applications like Hardware Components, Operating System, Hardware nodes supporting Applications residing on the Server Infrastructure etc.

The responsibilities include:
•The FTE will be part of the Support team that install, configure and manages, monitors systems for a 24/7 Infrastructure.
•The FTE is responsible for the maintenance of complex operating system’s software and related program products.
•He will perform hardware break/fix activities
•Monitor and Manage System Performance and get involved in Hardware upgrades as required.
•Provide hands-on hardware administration for servers, printer’s network switches hands on software.
•Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business management problems;
•Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards;
•Undertaking routine preventative measures
•Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence;

Role Skill Set Requirement:
•Preferably have comprehensive knowledge of IBM hardware product (pSeries servers and pSeries software products);
•At least 5 years working experience on System p Server, with strong AIX,

Linux/OS operation;
•Experience on Hardware Support and Maintenance.
•Well versed in IBM PowerVM, HACMP, AIX;
•Certification of hardware and software in IBM will be a plus.
•Experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting on IBM System

p Products;
•Good knowledge of ITIL;
•Knowledge of DB2 Server Products
•Solid Knowledge of TCP/IP Networks
•Extensive Knowledge of server security best practices and security models
•BSc Degree
