Job Title: Waste Segregation and Recycling Officer
Responsibilities
- Create daily work schedules and work plans for drivers
- Supervise collection and delivery of all segregated waste to appropriate destinations with maintained or improved quality and quantity of work
- Design forms to serve for data collection and quality assurance
- Participate in education and training of clients on waste segregation
- Conduct inspections of segregation activities and personnel
- Engage in outreach for marketing of products and services
- Map potential segregation clients
- Collect data and reports from all supervisors and drivers covering operations, volumes, clients, revenue, expenditure, etc.
Submit reports on attendance, activities, indiscipline, waste intake, additives, quality parameters, briquette output, expenditures, laboratory reports, etc.
- Ensure required behaviour and compliance of driving crew
- Ensure the provision of first aid and safety apparel for the welfare of personnel on the field Promote teamwork by ensuring corporation and delegating authority to Site Supervisors for completion of tasks.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Person Specification
Qualifications
- University coursework or a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field from recognized institution.
- Experience with providing presentations to diverse audiences required
- Experience in areas of budgets, record keeping, supervision, planning and liability required
- Experience in waste management preferred
- Experience in recycling, transportation and/or related fields preferred
Skills and Knowledge
- A general understanding of solid waste management principles desired.
- Strong communication skills (verbal / written)
